Meet the Green Ticket team!

Bruce Kietzmann, Chairman
After a stint in the South African navy Bruce opted for a career change from the sea to the African bush where he operated tours and safaris throughout Southern Africa, and later as a resident and professional guide in Botswana specialising in walking safaris by mode of a dugout, called a ‘mokoro’ punted with a long pole and gratitude.

He is interested in identifying chemical signals found to be common in both plants and humans. Bruce has resided in Plettenberg Bay since 2002 working various community projects including the wildlife industry in guiding and educating the conservation of our natural environment.

Bruce is the founding member of The Green Ticket.org

   

Albert Ackhurst, Scientific Advisor
Albert holds both BSc Hons. (Botany) and BCom Hons. (Human Capital) degrees. Albert’s focus is on landscape wide conservation and natural resource planning, climate change issues and human capital technical capacity across a spectrum of regional trans-boundary localities working for and with local authorities, international and provincial conservation and development institutions. With a special focus on local community participation and development he has realized a sustainable indigenous forest economy based on forest rehabilitation, medicinal plants and invasive vegetation management. Albert has also presented sustainable re-aforestation plans to parliament which is intended to lead to further development and discourse with national institutions. Albert currently grows forest and soil carbon in an attempt to help save the world!

   

Debbie Fermor, Secretary
Debbie is a co-owner and director of Ingwe Forest Adventures. She is an accomplished entrepreneur boasting extensive experience in the development of youth, primarily in the discipline of environmental life skills and marine mammal education.
A great love of the outdoors and looking at ways to conserve our natural environment led to an outdoor adventure career providing activities for both the youth and adult market.

Her unwavering belief in the potential of people to face and overcome challenging obstacles has culminated in her taking on the challenge of developing Ingwe into a venue renowned for adventures that produce real learning results for both youths and adults.

   

Lucinda Edwards, Treasurer

Gerhard Swart

Gerhard Swart conducts business as a Corporate Finance and Corporate Law Advisor. His areas of expertise include business valuations, private equity deals, equity capital raising for and listing of companies on the JSE, merger and acquisition structuring, financial modelling and corporate legal work.

 

Hardy Mills

Attorney Hardy Mills serves a wide variety of clients ranging from large institutions to individuals. He practices inter alia, Commercial, Property, Civil and Municipal Law from his offices in George and Plettenberg Bay. Hardy is involved in various community projects.

 

Gaby Burgmer

Gaby has been in the Tourism and Hospitality industry all her life and qualified at the International Hotel School in Tegernsee, Germany as Hotelier.

She is an avid nature lover, enjoys the bush and the outdoors and lives in a little piece of paradise here in Gauteng at the Heia Safari Ranch. Their Motto is “Live in Africa with Africa”! Lake Heritage is home to their resident fish eagle and they also work closely with the urban raptor foundation and a professional breeding platform has been built at the dam for the fish eagle and they have successfully bred 2 times.
